Flowers for Easter

Easter was approaching in a wonderful country. Many miracles happen there – people never quarrel, and flowers and animals talk. Easter falls at a different time each year. Because of this, the flowers that bloom for Easter can be different. However, in this wonderful country, even flowers that don’t bloom at Easter can bloom for Easter.

The lilac was preparing to greet Easter with beautiful flowers. Roses, violets, chrysanthemums, asters, snowdrops, peonies, rhododendrons, lilies of the valley, daisies, azaleas, geraniums, and crocosmia also wanted to delight everyone with beautiful flowers for Easter. All these flowers grew in Mother Olga’s garden. Olga always watered the flowers before Easter and added a magic fertilizer to the water.

The Red Rose considered itself the most beautiful flower. It wanted to be the only flower that would bloom for Easter! So that everyone would admire it only! But how to do that? The Rose pondered. At that moment, Olga came to water the flowers in the garden. She brought the magic fertilizer with her. Olga watered The Rose, and flowers immediately appeared on it, but she didn’t have time to water the other flowers. Her son Zhenya arrived, along with Grandma Rita and Grandpa Kolya. They went for tea. Meanwhile, The Rose decided to hide the magic fertilizer, so that only she could delight everyone with flowers at Easter! Grandma Rita and Grandpa Kolya were getting ready to go home, and Mother Olga suggested they look at the blooming rose.

“What a beautiful rose!” Grandma Rita and Grandpa Kolya said simultaneously.

Mother Olga was also admiring the roses. But then she remembered she needed to water the other flowers.

“Where is the magic fertilizer?” Olga exclaimed.

Mother searched the entire garden. Then she looked at The Rose and understood everything. “What a shame no one will be able to appreciate your beauty! Everyone will be upset that the other flowers haven’t bloomed!” Olga said.

The Rose was ashamed to have done something bad before Easter! She gave away the magic fertilizer and made peace with the other flowers. The rose’s flowers became even more beautiful, perhaps because she repented of her bad behavior.
